Pesquera Diamante puts its “Sebastian” boat into operation
23 de Octubre del 2019
Pesquera Diamante remodeled fishing vessel “Sebastián” in its Ferroles Shipyard, with its own engineering and supervision.
Lima, May 27, 2019.- As part of the plan to modernize its vessels and aim for operational excellence, Pesquera Diamante put into operation its modern and expanded Sebastian vessel. With this project, carried out by its own shipyard team, Diamante seeks to optimize fleet capabilities by ensuring efficient and safe operation.
After an investment of 2.5 million dollars and engineering, execution and supervision work by the qualified personnel of the Ferroles de Pesquera Diamante Shipyard; The Sebastián vessel grew in size with a length that went from 43.50 m to 54.90 m, a beam of 10.10 m, a prop of 4.56 m., and a warehouse capacity that went from 450 to 550 m3, becoming a shipbuilding achievement and also a starting point for future projects.
The SEBASTIAN boat is one of our 15 vessels with fishing permit for Direct and Indirect Human Consumption, with RSW fishing preservation system, non-metallic material recirculation pipes, 08 free wineries with through pipes, sprayed polyurethane insulation system coated with laminated glass, features aimed at reducing heat losses and avoiding fishing contact with hull steel, saving energy and greatly improving the conservation of raw materials.
It should be noted that in order to expedite the development of the project and provide continuity to the boat in the second fishing season of 2018, the work began when it was operating. Thus, at the facilities of our Ferroles Shipyard, a 26-meter-long module was built, which included all of the wineries. Once the SEBASTIAN vessel reached its fishing quota, it was placed on chocks, cut and prepared to remove its old wineries, which were replaced by this new section of the hull of more than 150 tons
“The Sebastian fishing vessel has been modified to bring our fishing with a high quality standard; Thus, the products that come out of this raw material will also have excellent quality and will therefore be more valued in the market. Today we see that projects like this are a very important factor to continue improving our competitiveness; May this be the beginning of an evolution of the entire Diamond fleet, ”said Pablo Trapunsky, General Manager of the company, in the event of the ship's deviation.
